“Who are we and what do we want when we are not pleasing others? Why do women lead all indices of inequality around the world and how does it impact in our lives?”
There are unwritten rules that establish women must play certain roles: to be a good daughter, girlfriend, wife, mother, lover. These demands intend to shape women’s bodies and behavior. Through history, cultural and entertainment industry, Freijo researches when this social difference began. And why women continue to deploy all their resources in time, attention, and money, obsessed with romantic love, thinking of the typical family as the only possible destiny. Awareness is the first step for a new freedom.
